Many times, our photographs are cluttered, vague and contain elements that are distracting to the viewer. This two-session seminar explores seeing and composing photographs with a minimal number of compositional elements: color, objects, shapes and texture, reducing photographic compositions to their essential elements. We will study masters of minimalistic photography and the photographic techniques used. Students will have the opportunity to create simpler images of their own, culminating in a group technique in the second class.
