About the NK Chamber of Commerce
The North Kingstown Chamber of Commerce, a 501(c)6 non-profit 200+ membership organization representing dozens of industries, is one of Rhode Island’s leading business membership and trade organizations located in North Kingstown, RI that includes the Quonset Business Park that employs over 11,000 employees. Our mission is to enhance the North Kingstown and surrounding area by supporting economic vitality, advocating for businesses, and providing collaborative growth opportunities in order to be a premier resource for the success of the Rhode Island business community.

Board of Directors Application
Thank you for your interest in serving on the Board of Directors for the North Kingstown Chamber of Commerce. Please review the expectations of the Board of directors and complete the following questionnaire.
Board of Director Commitment
The North Kingstown Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors defines the chamber’s mission and purpose, ensuring its long-term success and sustainability. Elected board members represent a wide range of businesses and professional leaders. The board works to advance the chamber’s goals and impact.
The Chamber Board of Directors serve in a voluntary capacity. Board meetings are typically held on the second Thursday of each month for an hour in length. Meetings are held at the Chamber offices located at 8045 Post Road, North Kingstown RI. Board meetings are held no fewer than 9 times per year.
All applications will be reviewed by the Board Nominating Committee. Successful candidates will be contacted by the Executive Director. Applications will be held for up to twelve months.
Qualifications for Board Membership:
- Member in good standing of North Kingstown Chamber of Commerce
- Demonstration of leadership qualities
- Community involvement
- Commitment to the mission of the Chamber
- Willingness to accept the responsibility and commitments of board membership
- Available to serve for a 2-year term
Board of Directors Responsibilities
- Governance: Establish policies, monitor performance, and ensure the Chamber operates transparently and responsibly. Board members must act in the Chamber’s best interest, comply with laws and regulations, and uphold ethical standards.
- Financial Oversight: Maintain financial and legal accountability by approving budgets, monitoring financial health, and protecting the Chamber’s assets.
- Strategic Input: Leverage diverse expertise to assess risks and opportunities, providing guidance on the Chamber’s strategic direction.
